The story
A still life with a crumpled white cloth covering only the left side; to the right the surface lies in shadow. At the left there is a bunch of red grapes, at the centre a round yellow fruit with a reddish blush, seen from its base, and beside it a long-stalked pear. At the right, half in shadow, a third fruit with green leaves appears.
Behind, at the left, a wall of stone blocks is visible; to the right the background sinks into darkness, so that the light falls sideways on the fruit and on the folds of the cloth. The signature is at the lower right.
