The story

Flat planes of color overlap at an angle: a green, a darker green, an ultramarine blue, a burnt orange and an orange-red at the left, and at the right a field of light blue.

A narrow black bar runs diagonally down the right side, from a third of the way down to the bottom, and separates the light blue from the burnt orange and the ultramarine. At the bottom two yellow bands show. There is no figure and no texture: only straight edges and flat color.

Why this work?

This untitled work by Luis Marrufo Crespo is a mixed media in a 107 × 117 cm frame (frame size; the work itself is smaller, still to be measured): tilted planes of flat color — greens, blues, oranges — separated by a diagonal black bar. A unique piece, selected by Pablo Vaca for EL ART DEALER for its color.

In your space

Strong, flat color: it works in a sober modern space, an office or a living room with plain furniture.
