"Solo dos" in a room
Room view — approximate scale on a 3.2 m wall

The story

«Solo dos» gathers, in a realist still life, several metal buckets brimming with flowers of every color: purples, yellows, reds and blues crowd into a generous bouquet that fills almost the entire canvas. At the bottom, two butterflies settle calmly onto the scene, and the title seems to point to them — amid all the floral abundance, only two. The contrast between the cool sheen of the metal and the fleshiness of the petals guides the eye and gives the composition its weight.

Hildemary Vizcaya handles acrylic on canvas with a detailed craft, attentive to the volume of each bloom and the reflections on the buckets. The vertical format concentrates the bouquet and pushes it upward, while the saturated palette sustains the vitality of the piece. This is a work that celebrates the still-life genre without giving up a narrative wink — those two butterflies that bring movement and life into the arrangement.

Why this work?

«Solo dos» (1997), by Hildemary Vizcaya, is an acrylic on canvas measuring 71 × 56 cm: a realist still life of metal buckets overflowing with purple, yellow, red and blue flowers, with two butterflies resting at the foot. A unique, signed piece, chosen by Pablo Vaca for EL ART DEALER for its detailed craft, vibrant palette and the narrative touch that gives it its name.

In your space

Its vertical format and vivid color call for a dining-room or entryway wall, where the bouquet can be read up close and bring warmth to the room.
