The story
Across a large, vibrant blue field, «Ciudad azul» unfolds a web of signs, letters and marks that verge on graffiti. The color saturates the canvas edge to edge and turns into atmosphere; over it, yellow, red and white marks break in with energy, like an urban script meant not to be read but to pulse.
The acrylic is applied with a loose, direct gesture that reveals the speed of the stroke and the layering of paint. The signature «Enrico Armas» blends into the whole as one more mark within the visual rhythm. It is a contemporary, large-format piece made to occupy and energize a wide wall.
Why this work?
«Ciudad azul» (2002), by Enrico Armas, is an acrylic on canvas measuring 100 × 140 cm: an intense blue field populated with signs, letters and yellow, red and white marks with an energy close to graffiti. A unique, signed work, selected by Pablo Vaca for EL ART DEALER for its contemporary force and its large-wall format.
In your space
Its horizontal format and saturated blue call for a wide, uncluttered wall: it shines in a modern living room or entryway, a focal point of color against a neutral background.
