"Untitled" in a room
Room view — approximate scale on a 3.2 m wall

The story

A staircase of red and white steps climbs through the centre, between two great blue masses that look like walls or cliffs, toward a group of tilted buildings at the top. To its right, a man in a white shirt, suspended in the air, plays a long trumpet with his head thrown back, his shadow cast on the wall.

Sheets of music and dark scraps of paper fly through the air, and a bottle stands on one of the steps. At the lower right there are a blue mask and a flower with a spiral stem. The whole background is flecked with points of light.

Why this work?

This untitled work (2010) by Alexander Martínez is an acrylic on canvas measuring 85 × 142 cm: a trumpeter beside a red and white staircase between blue walls, with sheets of music flying and tilted buildings above. A unique piece, selected by Pablo Vaca for EL ART DEALER for its dreamlike atmosphere.

In your space

A wide format dominated by blues: a living room, a music room or a long corridor wall.

There are artists of this name with public records, but we have not been able to confirm which of them signs these pieces. Of the three works in the collection one can say what is visible: small figures in long coats with umbrellas, or with a trumpet, in settings of intense color with flying papers; one is signed «A MARTINEZ» and dated 2010.
