The works by Marilyn Duarte in the collection all centre on a dancer: a girl tying her slipper, a dancer crouched on pointe, a nude in mid-air seen from behind and a dancer crossing a tondo. The figures are worked in greys and whites, detailed down to the lace of the tutu — which, according to Pablo Vaca, she renders with airbrush over a stencil — against grounds of damask, stripes or color.
